TGI Fridays is originally an American restaurant chain providing American and Tex-Mex cuisines. It was founded in 1965 in New York and has since expanded to over 1000 restaurants located in 61 countries becoming one of the world’s largest full service casual dining restaurant chains.
Most TGI Fridays have a propeller and a rowing scull put on the display as a part of their antiques. This is actually a part of a story told to all their employees. The scull always contains a pair of saddle shoes and a bottle of champagne in order to remind employees of the value of teamwork, leadership, and celebrating success. The propeller is always above or near the bar. The thought behind this is that the bar in a way “propels” the restaurant as the menu lays much emphasis on alcoholic beverages.
The idea is to offer authentic American food and enjoyable drinks in an atmosphere that provides an energizing and mood-uplifting Friday feeling on any day of the week and hence the name “TGI Fridays” which is an acronym for “Thank God It’s Friday”.

The next appetizer was Fried Mozzarella Sticks which were served with Marinara Sauce. Deep fried to a golden shade, they had a crispy coating with creamy melted cheesy goodness on the inside.
We had Ultimate Fridays Nachos which were crispy Tortilla Chips topped with Cheddar and Monterey Jack Cheese in abundance along with chopped veggies like bell peppers, tomatoes, spring onions, cabbage and coriander. It was served with sour cream and presented in the form of a heap.
In the seafood, we tried Crab and Parmesan crusted Fish which were pan seared fish fillets with deviled crab and parmesan breadcrumbs. It was oversalty and served with mashed potatoes and sauteed broccoli , red bell pepper and beans.

Coming to the pizzas, we ordered Caribbean Pesto Balsamic Pizza and Alfredo Garden Fresh Pizza. They were rectangular shaped with Mozzarella and Cheddar Cheese spread over a thin, crispy crust. The former had a topping of bell tomatoes, thin slices of onion, chopped spring onion with pesto and a drizzle of Balsamic glaze and was delicious.
The Alfredo Garden Fresh pizza which had a topping of thin Zucchini slices, black olives, red chillies and basil juliennes didn’t taste as good.
The Triple Berry Smoothie was a delightful blend of strawberry puree, blackberries and cranberry juice. I loved that it tasted natural without any added sugar to enhance the sweetness.
We finished off our meal with the a tray of five mini desserts which were Mocha Latte, Snickers Treat, Strawberry Parfait, Tropical Delight and Chocolate Oreo Mint Crunch out of which I liked Tropical Delight which had pineapple and coconut.
